GSAT STUDENTS COMMENDED FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN ONLINE COACHING PROJECT RUN BY USAID-COMET & GoGSAT
Forty-five students from Grants Pen, St. Andrew, were on Wednesday afternoon awarded for their outstanding participation in an online coaching service, which prepared them for the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT). They were presented with certificates, trophies and other accolades at an Awards Ceremony at the Grants Pen Community Policing Station, hosted by the Grants Pen Community Policing Consultative Committee, USAID – Community Empowerment and Transformation Project (COMET), and GoGSAT, the e-learning company.
ST. GEORGES SPORTS CLUB RECEIVES A FACE-LIFT FROM DIGICEL FOUNDATION
The St. Georges Sports Club, located in Buff Bay, Portland and home of the National Premier League football team, St. Georges, received a face-lift today from the Digicel Foundation in the form of 10 stands and fencing. The Foundation officially handed over the $5.5 million staff project, by unveiling the team’s club sign, donating items such as footballs, bags and bibs and organizing two friendly matches between the community, Digicel team members and the media.
LEE-CHIN’S AIC PARTNERS WITH C-CAM TO SUPPORT FISHERMEN
Fishermen on Jamaica’s south coast from Hellshire to Old Harbour, were overjoyed to receive equipment funded by a $10 million donation from Michael Lee-Chin’s AIC, and distributed by the grass roots organization, the Caribbean Coastal Area Management Foundation (C-CAM). Starting at Hellshire Beach on Friday, March 7 and continuing towards the Old Harbour Bay region at different beaches on Saturday, March 8, several fishermen were provided with fishing wire.
